The beachy quartz bed at seven-month-old Spa Nalai is the only one of its kind in New York ($275 per hour). Heated to 95 degrees, the bed employs the ancient tradition of healing the body by grounding it to the Earth’s surface. A thin sheet lies between you and the German-imported sand quartz, but the warmth still gives joints that Mediterranean-vacation feeling. The spa also has a saltwater lap pool and marble eucalyptus steam room.
