Best Bowling Party

  • Bowlmor Times Square

    222 W. 44th St., nr. Seventh Ave.; 212-680-0012

Chelsea Piers may have met its match. The new Bowlmor Times Square has reached for the nuclear option in the Cold War competition for birthday parties. Not only do kids get to chuck bowling balls down Gotham-themed lanes lined in grass (Central Park) or flanked by dragons and a gong (Chinatown), they can also rumble around an ersatz Coney Island; chow down on a David Burkeconceived menu of mac and cheese, pizza, and tater tots; and heckle the occasional circus performer. Parents can pick from four packages (from $42.95 to $78.95 per child, eight-kid minimum), with the Coney Bowl and High Striker divvying up kids’ time between bowling and rampaging around the game zone.
