This square box of a store, located on the ground floor of a condo building, epitomizes a style many Brooklyn shops only aspire tolovingly worn farmhouse meets sleek urban loft. In the sun-filled space, jewelry and textile designer Caitlin Mociun curates an ever-shifting array of handmade housewares and accessories, with a focus on clean lines and earth tones interspersed with pops of color. Prices range accordingly: Ceramic spoons that could pass for art objects are $34, playful porcelain fingers are $98, and a quilt made from packing blankets is $4,000. The shop carries bolts of the designer’s graphically patterned fabric and her full line of jewelrydelicate pieces that often pair gold with asymmetrically placed gemstones (from $185). What holds the eclectic assortment together is Mociun’s epically well-honed sense of aesthetics, which is so good you wish you could just install the entire store in your living room, piece by piece.
