Sometimes it’s funny to listen to celebrities talk about politics. Sometimes it’s offensive. And sometimes, it’s just nice to hear an honest opinion from someone you feel like you know. During an interview with the Associated Press, a reporter asked Matt Damon what he thought about Sarah Palin. He responded by voicing his fears that, in all likelihood, she could be put in the presidency soon enough. The video is after the jump, but here’s the money line:
It’s like a really bad Disney movie. You know? The hockey mom, ‘Oh I’m just a hockey mom from Alaska,’ and she’s the PRESIDENT, and it’s like she’s facing down Vladamir Putin and using the folksy stuff she learned at the hockey rink. It’s absurd, it’s totally absurd, and I don’t understand why more people aren’t talking about how absurd it is. It’s a terrifying possibility. The fact that we’ve gotten this far and we’re that close to this being a reality is crazy.
We have to say, we completely disagree with Matt Damon on a major point here. Those Disney movies aren’t really bad. They’re totally awesome! Just one viewing of A Kid in King Arthur’s Court will have you voting for Sarah Palin in no time.
