This should be interesting to watch: Disgruntled permanent residents of the The Jane Hotel, Eric Goode and Sean McPherson’s reinterpretation of the old Jane Street Hotel Hotel Riverview, are threatening to protest outside the duo’s other famous properties, the Waverly Inn and Maritime Hotel. They claimed in a hearing yesterday that Jane workers are rude, there are rats because of new construction, and there is sometimes no running water, among other problems. McPherson and Goode already have a Certificate of No Harassment from the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development that testifies that they are good landlords, and they maintain that their behavior is above the board. The specter of a Waverly Inn protest was floated by gonzo publicist Ronn Torossian, so it may just be an empty threat. But wouldn’t it be great to see a bunch of angry West Village cranks getting in the way of paparazzi at the Waverly Inn? It would make getting seated in that little outdoor front area all the more appalling!
