Caroline Kennedy called David Paterson today, according to the Times, to let him know that she was no longer interested in replacing Hillary Clinton in the Senate. A source said the decision had much to do with the poor health of her uncle Ted Kennedy, with whom she is very close. Suddenly a group of about twenty grumpy New York pols are looking at a week that didn’t necessarily peak on Tuesday. [NYT]
