The former star for the Nets and St. John’s, currently awaiting retrial on a charge of reckless manslaughter, was taken early today to St. Vincent’s Hospital for psychological evaluation after he barricaded himself in a hotel room, and, according the Post’s sources, was acting “violent” and “suicidal.” The NYPD Emergency Services Unit, called in for assistance because Williams had trashed his room, had to use an “electrical device” to subdue him.
