Witnesses at today’s hearing for Thomas Doyle, the convicted felon involved in the case of a nineteenth-century painting that went missing under odd and hilarious circumstances, got a special treat: an impromptu comedy routine from a couple of federal prosecutors. First up, U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara:
“Doyle’s alleged efforts turned out to be an inartful fraud,” Bharara said.
If Doyle decorates walls with fine art in the future, the walls “may be the inside of a prison cell,” said Janice K. Fedarcyk, head of New York’s FBI office.
