The Bronx Zoo’s Reptile House, the exhibit from which a cobra dubbed “Mia” recently escaped before being captured — reopens today. According to the Daily News, “It’s clear who’s the star of the show.” The paper claims the snake, who attempted escape only two weeks ago, is already acting like a celebrity: “The plucky slider wasn’t fazed by camera lights and slithered to the front of her enclosure, popped her head up, puffed up her glands and stuck out her forked tongue.” The Wildlife Conservation Society has updated the exhibit with details of Mia’s journey, and fans are flocking to the exhibit. Shawsnake loves the attention, we’re sure. She only escaped for fame. [NYDN]
