Now that Irene has come and gone, it’s safe to say she didn’t exactly live up to the hype generated by the MTA’s unprecedented system-wide shutdown and Mayor Bloomberg’s similarly unprecedented evacuation order for low-lying areas. (Also, the media. Sorry!) But that doesn’t mean it wasn’t still a pretty mean storm.
