New York Times Hosts Peaceful Protest

At the Paper of Record today, Newspaper Guild members stood quietly for ten minutes outside of the Page One meeting room in a showing of solidarity amid contract negotiations. Management wants a pension freeze that would save the company about $9 million, plus health-care changes, while recently pushed out CEO Janet Robinson is taking with her a hefty retirement package worth just about that much, give or take a few million.
