Yahoo Chairman, Three Board Directors Giving Up

After the firing of CEO Carol Bartz, the naming of a new boss, and the departure of co-founder Jerry Yang, four board directors at Yahoo have agreed to cede their spots, too. Chairman Roy Bostock announced today that he will not be running for reelection at the annual shareholders meeting, and neither will Vyomesh Joshi, Arthur Kern, or Gary Wilson, in part because they have no new bright ideas that are “attractive to our shareholders.” Following the switch-up, the majority of Yahoo’s board will have started in 2012, and all nine members since 2010. Amid an uncertain future, to put it optimistically, the struggling Internet company’s planned reinvention kicked into full gear when Bostock fired Bartz suddenly over the phone; he at least got to do himself in.
