An investigation known as Operation Heavy Metal has ended in the arrests of fifteen Long Island Railroad workers (and two civilians.) The men have been accused of taking copper wire from MTA storage bins and selling it to scrap metal dealers for more than $250,000 over the last three years, and the scheme will likely cost them their jobs and pensions — unless brother-in-arms Joe Biden chooses to intervene, that is.
