Miss New York, 23-year-old Mallory Hagan, single-handedly redeemed the shame of the Jets’ last season by beating out 52 contestants to become Miss America 2013 in Las Vegas on Saturday night. Hagan, an Alabama native, moved to Park Slope in 2008 “with less than a grand in my pocket, a BIG suitcase and a lot of hope” and no opinions on the Co-op. She was named Miss Brooklyn in 2010 and is currently studying advertising and marketing at FIT. This charming young gal took the big crown last night with a one-two punch of sensible thoughts on gun control:

She also demonstrated her ability to walk around in a swimsuit, at one point.
