Marco Rubio’s thirst, but Westminster Best in Show winner Banana Joe, the first affenpinscher to take the title, is apparently taking his victory in stride — and getting completely anthropomorphized in the process. “Joey sat calmly, as if he could have gone back onto the floor of Madison Square Garden and taken on his challengers again,” the New York Times’ Richard Sandomar wrote. “This isn’t a breed you train. He’s like a human. You befriend him,” said his handler, Ernesto Lara. It was Joe’s last competition before he retires to his native Netherlands, where he will presumably go back to being a dog.
