The National Republican Congressional Committee will no longer spend money on behalf of Mark Sanford after the former congressman was accused of repeatedly trespassing at his ex-wife’s home. Republicans also “worry other damaging revelations about Mark Sanford’s personal life that they aren’t aware of could come out in the coming weeks,” according to Politico. The NRCC gussied up the decision real nice, though. “Mark Sanford has proven he knows what it takes to win elections,” a spokeswoman says, as if he’s just so good at being a politician that he doesn’t need their help.
