New York’s new bike-sharing program, which began last week for people who purchased a $95 yearly membership, opened to the public on Sunday: Anyone with a credit or debit card is free to buy a $25 seven-day pass or a $10 24-hour pass, both of which allow for unlimited 30-minute trips during the selected time period (and plenty of fees for users who stay out too long.) So, watch out for those lost tourists everyone’s all worried about, and prepare for the next wave of Citi Bike–related bickering, because there’s going to be a lot.
