At least, that’s the opinion of former State Department adviser Will McCants, one of several experts McClatchy contacted for a take on the multiple U.S. embassies closed thanks to a terrorist threat. McCants’s eloquence was enough to make it into the article’s headline: “Broad U.S. terror alert mystifies experts; ‘It’s crazy pants,’ one says.” That’s about the extent of his quoted insight: “It’s crazy pants – you can quote me.” They sure did.
