Once again proving that he doesn’t really “get” current events or humor or good taste, designer Kenneth Cole has chimed in on Syria. Previously, the self-described “Aspiring Humanitarian, Frustrated Activist, Social Networker In training” used the occasion of the Egyptian riots to plug his spring collection. In this special Fashion Week edition of Foreign Affairs With Kenneth Cole, he pointed out that “boots on the ground,” as in war, is linguistically related to shoes, which he sells.
As Cole’s Twitter bio makes sure to note, “My tweets are not representative of the corporate @kennethcoleprd feed.” So yeah, feel free to buy the product without guilt and continue not thinking about the brutal civil war.
