Lillo Brancato Jr., the actor best known for his roles in A Bronx Tale and The Sopranos, was released from prison today after serving less than five years for his role in a botched robbery that left an off-duty officer dead. Brancato was the subject of Steve Fishman’s story “The Lost Soprano” in a 2006 issue of New York. At the time, he said he planned to make a movie about his life when free. “In a way, I’m glad I went through this stuff,” he explained, “because I can capture it on film and would know how to do it.”
