Thirteen blocks of Broadway were closed to traffic in midtown today and dubbed Super Bowl Boulevard, even though the actual game is across the river in New Jersey, near that rest stop. Like everything in Times Square, it was overhyped and people went anyway: Grown humans (including a videographer from Animal New York, who did it for journalism) waited at least 45 minutes in the freezing cold for a chance to ride the “Super Bowl Toboggan Run,” which has nothing to do with New York, New Jersey, or football. Go team.
