The Russian men’s hockey team was under tremendous pressure to win Olympic gold on home ice in Sochi, but they were shaky in the preliminary round and earlier today were eliminated by Finland in the quarterfinals. The photo of a sad Vladimir Putin floating around the internet this morning wasn’t actually taken today. But these pictures, of distraught Russians fans either at the game or following along in Olympic Park, were.
