The 4,193-square-foot space, unveiled today as the second model apartment, has already been made over by designer Jamie Drake. Walls were bathed in customized Venetian plaster, the white oak floors ebonized, and kitchen cabinets dressed in Macassar ebony. (In short: fancy.) And, of course, those views.
The living and dining area is sandwiched between north and south vistas. You can see clear to Jersey, and the entirety of Central Park unfolds before you — great for marathon-watching, Shakespeare in the Park–viewing, and world-domination-planning.
There’s a view from the master bedroom, the two other bedrooms, the shower, and the foyer. There’s even one from the commode in the master bath.
What will it cost you? $28.5 million, all furnishings included — that Steinway! — plus $777,500 more for work by artists such as Larry Poons and Susie MacMurray. (Full disclosure: We are majorly crushing on MacMurray’s “gauze bandage drawing” that now hangs in the foyer.)
Or you could forgo all that and pay $27 million for just the apartment — less than a third the price that hedge-funder William Ackman allegedly paid for the 13,500-square-foot penthouse he describes as “the Mona Lisa of apartments.”
