If you only read one e-book featuring pages and pages of poorly written emails — let’s be honest, it’s going to be Fifty Shades of Grey. However, you may be better off reading the first chapter of Jeb Bush’s e-book. Early on Tuesday morning, the likely 2016 candidate launched a website featuring all of his emails from his eight years as Florida governor, which were already posted by news organizations several weeks ago. He also shared the first 45 pages of his e-book, which consists of highlights from the archive interspersed with commentary from Bush. As governor he made his email available to the public, and tried to write back to his constituents personally. “My staff estimated I spent 30 hours a week answering emails, either from my laptop or Blackberry, often while on the road,” he writes. The book captures all the fun of reading other people’s mail, minus the thrill of stumbling onto something juicy, or at least violating federal law.
