Nations No. 1 Safety Expelled From School

Los Alamitos (Calif.) safety Randy Estes, the top defensive back in the country as rated by Student Sports, was dismissed from school Thursday morning for unspecified reasons and didnt play for the Griffins Thursday night in a 28-3 win over Anaheim Esperanza.

Estes, a 6-1, 180 pound senior, was an intra-district transfer from Long Beach Poly meaning not only will he be suspended from school, but rules stipulate that he'll be expelled since the policy with intra-district transfers is essentially one strike and out.

Greg Biggins, Dir. of Recruiting for Student Sports, explains: With Estes suspension, it will make it very tough for him to qualify for a Division I college as he was having issues in the classroom to begin with.

The talented safety was hearing from schools all over the country although he was rumored to be a silent commitment to USC for some time now.

A preseason Student Sports Hot 100 national prospect and Jr. All-American when he recorded 96 tackles with three interceptions, Biggins said of Estes during the summer: He might be the best defensive back to come out of California since Ronnie Lott in the mid 70s. He has incredible field awareness and never misses a tackle.
