Earlier this week Vikram Pandit, the adorable if bumbling CEO of Citigroup, was the victim of a vicious rumor: Sources told the Wall Street Journal that Viki’s handsome boyfriend, the government, was planning on dumping him as soon as someone better came along. But today, it seems things have been smoothed over: “No one expects a shake-up in Citi’s executive suite to be a condition of the government raising its stake in the bank,” a source tells the Post.
