Alex Rodriguez’s convenient hip surgery was successful, with his doctor saying it “went exactly as we planned.” This probably wouldn’t be newsworthy — these athlete operations tend not to be unsuccessful, after all — except that it’s A-Rod, and virtually nothing in his life has gone as planned over the last month or so.
