If John McCain’s newfound love of Twitter shocked and frightened us, at least it also helped to prepare us for a brave new world in which the erstwhile computer-illiterate was actually helping to pioneer new uses of social media. On Tuesday McCain will participate in George Stephanopolous’s first “Twitterview” which is exactly what it sounds like. A Google search reveals that perhaps the first mainstream-ish Twitterview took place between TVNewser and CNN anchor Rick Sanchez back in September, and focused almost entirely on Twitter itself. But this time it’ll be a veteran journalist and seasoned senator, tweeting back and forth in 140 characters or less. Is that really enough space to adequately address and explain the many complex issues currently confronting our nation? It is now!
