The whole point of President Obama’s visit to the Tonight Show last night was, ostensibly, to connect with the hoi polloi during this time of great populist outrage and general angst. So would anything have contradicted that purpose more than — instead of having Obama walk out like a normal person — driving him, in his limo, into the set and right up onto the stage, as Vulture hero Ben Silverman claims Obama’s team originally planned on doing?
