Last year, Governor Paterson was called mean names like “Governor Tight Wad” when his taxes revealed he’d only given $150 dollars to charity despite his and his wife’s healthy $270,000 income. Paterson dropped some sketchy hints that he may have done more in secret but didn’t want to invite a media “feeding frenzy” upon the recipients of his largess. This year, with his approval ratings already in the dumps, Paterson has wisely chosen to do his giving in the public eye his tax returns show he donated $11,800 to charity.
