New Hampshire governor John Lynch, a Democrat, objected today to language in the same-sex marriage bill that was recently passed by the state legislature, but says he’ll sign it into law if his changes are adopted. Lynch wants to ensure that churches won’t be forced to conduct same-sex marriage ceremonies against their beliefs. The president of the New Hampshire Senate predicted they would “act quickly” to amend the bill, so it looks like the Granite State will soon enough become the sixth state to legalize gay marriage.
