A controversial gun measure that the Times called “radical” and was opposed by Mayor Bloomberg and both New York senators has been defeated in the senate. The legislation would have allowed anyone with a concealed-gun license in one state to carry his or her firearms into any other state that granted concealed-gun licenses even if that state, like New York, may have more stringent restrictions on concealed weapons. Interesting how quickly support for states’ rights vanishes when it’s not convenient. [HuffPo]
