stupid crime of the day

How Do We Rate the Post’s Punny Coverage of a Nude Model at the Met?

Okay, so publicity-desperate photographer Zach Hyman showed up at the Met yesterday to take photos of a naked female model in the Arms and Armor gallery. Of course, this caused a scene, most likely because Hyman arranged for a New York Post photographer and reporter to also be there. The model, Kathleen Neill, got arrested, which is sad for her because modeling, like any other business, is tough, and sometimes, like in any other business, someone asks you to get naked and run around and you just have to do it. Because how else does one get ahead in the world? Anyway, since the Post was so complicit in all of this and they clearly felt guilty about it, they ran an online slideshow of photos of Neill running around bare-assed. Which is only fair, of course. It’ll certainly boost her career prospects — Anna Wintour loves that junk.

Anyway, the tabloid ran with the headline: “MET’S NUDE BUST.” Which is pretty good, but we think you guys could do better. A naked model in the Arms and Armor gallery of the Met? Come on, that’s ripe with possibility! Here are some alternatives:

MET IT ALL HANG OUT
WORK ON CANV-ASS
HEAVY METAL
• A REAL CODPIECE
THE SWORD AND THE BONE
BUNNING THE GAUNTLET
MICHELANGEL-HO!

Surely you guys can do better. This is our most desperate hour. Help us, commenters: You’re our only grope.
