As part of NBC’s “Ephemeral News Obsessions of the Year” “People of the Year” special airing this Thursday, Matt Lauer spoke to Nadya “Octomom” Suleman, Susan Boyle, and hero pilot Chesley Sullenberger, whose wife unexpectedly provided couples worldwide with a bit of helpful relationship advice. It turns out that all a guy needs to do to spark up his sleepy marriage is execute the most celebrated aircraft landing in the history of man.
“He doesn’t know I’m gonna say this, but I had joked the other day that … the hero sex really helps a 20-year-old marriage,” Lorrie Sullenberger said with a laugh, according to an NBC transcript.
Good for you, Sullenbergers. Also, kind of gross and unnecessary! If you were a normal couple and not a hot fiftysomething woman and an average-looking but heroic pilot, that indiscretion would be unforgivable. As it is, we will let it slide this one time.
