Remember when we asked if you’ve ever been helped by a Good Samaritan while out and about in New York City, and most of you came up with stories involving lost items that had been kindly returned to you? Here’s a great new example of one such story: A 72-year-old Italian tourist left her purse, which contained $21,000, in a cab. Cops told her to forget about it, but the cab driver drove 50 miles out to Long Island to the only address he could find in the purse. No one was there, so he left his number. When the tourist eventually retrieved it, the cabbie wouldn’t even accept a reward. [NYT]
