Hero Deputy Mayor Ed Skyler, one of the mayor’s most hardworking and loyal aides, is leaving City Hall by the end of the month, reports the Post. Starting out as the youngest city press secretary ever, Skyler grew to be one of the most powerful deputy mayors in City Hall and one of Mayor Bloomberg’s close confidants at only 36. He’ll be heading to Citigroup, where he will run the massive bank’s external and internal communications and help guide its government relations. He’s probably thanking his lucky stars the government is selling its quarter share in Citi before he gets there — after over a decade working in city politics, someone that ambitious has got to be tired of working for the government.
