Joe Biden went on The View today, becoming the highest ranking sitting public official to ever appear on the show. Of course, one of the first things the ladies asked him about was the time when, on national television, as Elisabeth Hasselbeck put it: “Health care gets signed, and you drop the F-bomb.” “I was just thankful my mother couldn’t hear it,” Biden said. “It was a little embarrassing.” Biden said he realized that there was a microphone present but that he had “no idea it was that sensitive.” After the event, Obama was informed by his secretary that the mike picked up Biden’s four-letter word. “We got into the limo to go over to another event, and he was laughing like the devil,” Biden said. “I said, what’s so funny, I don’t see anything funny about this.” Later during the appearance, the ladies asked him about Sarah Palin and whether the administration thought she was a threat to Obama in 2012. Biden hemmed and hawed, but then conceded: “If you meet her, she is a charming person. It’s hard not to like her.” He even added: “I say this and people look at me like I’m kidding, but I like her.”
