We always hear about who’s going to run against Kirsten Gillibrand (or, more accurately, express interest and then decide not to), but what about an opponent for Chuck Schumer? With CNBC’s Larry Kudlow probably opting out, GOP political consultant Jay Townsend will announce his candidacy against Schumer this Saturday. Schumer is such a formidable candidate because he’s raised vastly more money than any other senator up for reelection ($21.8 million) and is possibly a personal favorite of God.
