Even as his staff are resolving to renew their quest to create award-winning journalism in the face of criticism that The Wall Street Journal has become a shallower version of its former self, owner Rupert Murdoch insists he doesn’t care that the paper hasn’t won a Pulitzer Prize in three years and this year wasn’t even nominated. “We never will be. Don’t worry. We’re not in the business for prizes, we’re there for our readers,” Murdoch told us at last night’s Costume Institute Ball at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. “We never get prizes, anywhere. We don’t do it.”
