Mark Williams Steps Down As Chairman of the Tea Party Express

Sacramento-based conservative-radio talk-show host Mark Williams is stepping down as chairman of the Tea Party Express so that he can focus on fighting the construction of a mosque near the site of ground zero in New York. Williams has already argued that the mosque could be used for “the worship of the terrorists’ monkey-god.” He has since sort of apologized for that remark, but he will now be devoting himself fully to opposing this cause. Well almost fully: He’ll also be “leading a recall effort against some members of the Sacramento City Council and running for a spot on the local body himself after the council voted to boycott Arizona over its new immigration law.” Williams told CNN he’s “thinking globally and acting locally.” Sounds like he’s got his plate full of opposition!
