In an attempt to avoid the death penalty, Steven Hayes’s defense team read passages from Joshua Komisarjevsky’s confiscated prison diaries to paint Komisarjevsky as the mastermind behind the grisly home invasion that led to rape and a triple murder in Connecticut in 2007.
