Prince William Finally Popped the Question

After seven years of courtship, Prince William asked “Waity Katie” (god, that’s awful) Middleton for her hand in marriage. Dear reader, would you believe she said, “Yes!!!”? The couple, who met as students at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, got engaged in Kenya during a “private holiday” in October. The wedding will take place in London in the spring or summer of 2011. Considering the news appears to have first been announced on Facebook, maybe things will have a more modern twist this time around. Across the pond, people are very excited. During an press briefing outside Downing Street this morning, Prime Minister David Cameron told reporters there were cheers and “banging of table” when the cabinet heard. Cameron also revealed that he “slept on the Mall the night before Princess Diana and Charles’ wedding.” Hey, no shame in that. The eighties were nuts. George W. Bush probably tried to sneak into Madonna and Sean Penn’s nuptials. Either way, commitment-phobes, the Prince William excuse no longer holds.
