Police arrested 55-year-old Hassan Malik and charged him with second-degree murder Monday night, in connection with the case of the woman whose body was found in a suitcase last week. The arrest came after a surveillance video leaked in which a man wheeled around a suitcase believed to contain the body of 28-year-old Betty Williams while displaying remarkable calm. Malik, of East Harlem, reportedly confessed to paying the victim for sex and killing her afterward when “he noticed she was taking more money.” As police were leading Malik away, a reporter asked if he was sorry for what he allegedly did. Apparently, he replied: “Yes.” [CNN, NYP]
