‘Did You Hear the Thunder Today? It Was Our Founding Fathers Clapping From Heaven!’

Meet Janine Turner. You may remember her from Northern Exposure. Since the seminal poetic Alaskan comedy ended, she’s continued acting, including an eight-episode stint on Friday Night Lights. But she’s also one of the founders of Constituting America, an organization dedicated to educating the public about the content and importance of the Constitution. (Also, according to her official bio, she “comes from a long line of Texans, including Anson Jones, the last President of the Republic of Texas.”) She went on Parker Spitzer last night to talk about the occasionally awkward reading of the amended Constitution that happened on the floor of the House yesterday. In this clip of her appearance, we invite you to watch Kathleen Parker trying to keep a straight face as Turner says: “Did you hear the thunder today? It was our Founding Fathers clapping from Heaven that the Constitution was read on the House floor!”
