Iran is capable of spotting the hidden Jewish conspiracy in pretty much anything, so it’s not that shocking that the country’s Olympic committee insists that the logo for the 2012 London Olympics spells out the word Zion. If you read it from top to bottom on the left side and then top to bottom on the right side, and you kind of tilt your head 90 degrees at the end, it actually does kind of look like “Zion.” That’s mostly (entirely) because of the inherent and unavoidable similarities between the numbers in “2012” and the letters in the word Zion. But far from letting the coincidence slide, one of the world’s least popular countries is threatening to withhold its barely perceptible presence from the Olympics in protest of the “racist logo.” “There is no doubt,” Iran’s Olympic chairman writes in a letter to the International Olympic Committee, “that negligence of the issue from your side may affect the presence of some countries in the games.” Oh, uh, no … please … don’t do that … we definitely, um, need you there, at the Olympics.
