Muammar Qaddafi Surfaces, Umbrella Intact

After a day of chaos, Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi appeared briefly on state-run television in Libya to let his protesters know he was still in power. “I am in Tripoli, not in Venezuela,” he claimed. “Do not believe the channels belonging to stray dogs.” In his 22-second appearance, Qaddafi also said, “I wanted to say something to the youths at the Green Square (in Tripoli) and stay up late with them but it started raining. Thank God, it’s a good thing.” Well, at least he’s got that extra-large umbrella to keep him dry.
