As if the Anthony Weiner scandal could get any more bizarre and circuslike, Andrew Breitbart, the man responsible for blowing the story wide open today, showed up at the midtown Sheraton shortly before Weiner was poised to hold a press conference there. Talking to reporters in front of a podium for nearly fifteen minutes, Breitbart defended his decision to pursue the story, says the other photos are of “an X-rated nature,” called for Weiner to apologize to him for a “blame the messenger” attack strategy and to lay out the whole truth of what happened, and also acknowledged that Weiner is “in very good shape.” Weiner is expected to speak soon. This is weird.
