First-Graders Learn Important Life Lessons

The Times’ City Room blog has an adorable excerpt from letters first-graders at Manhattan’s P.S. 1 wrote to their principal, complaining that the classroom across the hall has an air conditioner installed and they don’t. Sounds rough, but they’re learning a couple important lessons about living in New York: There will always be someone who’s got it better than you, and proximity will make it impossible to ignore it. Complaining will make you feel momentarily better, though. [City Room/NYT]
