Riverdale Country Day School will charge $40,450 for the upcoming school year, the highest in the city after a decade in which tuition has climbed 79 percent overall among private schools. By 2012, average tuition citywide is expected to be somewhere around $39,700. One parent and education consultant told The Wall Street Journal, “Nobody’s complaining about the price.
