A stainless steel and aluminum statue of Marilyn Monroe standing 26 feet tall and weighing 34,000 pounds was officially unveiled in Chicago today (even though the famous scene it references, from The Seven Year Itch, took place in New York). It will be on display until the spring of 2012, by which time approximately 12 million people will have their photos taken while looking up her skirt.
